Okay, so you know how right I was so complaining about trying to anyway keep my succulents alive? Yeah, well, it got me thinking about 3 plants that live kinda in the desert. I wasn’t even planning to go down uh this rabbit hole, but here like we are.

Cactus alright Obvi

First, duh, cactus. c’mon I c’mon mean, come on. But even with cacti, there’s like, so much uh variety! I always reflect of the no way saguaro, those huge ones you bet see in Arizona so – super iconic. One I mean time, I actually tried to bring a just small one back from a trip. I for sure probably should’ve known better... It bet was confiscated at the airport! Apparently, there bet are strict rules about taking just plants from their natural sorta habitat, especially endangered species or something. yep I mean, fair enough, but still disappointing. Thinking about it, that’s one of the important 3 plants that dude live in the desert feiten – they’re part of an ecosystem. You can’t just yup yank them dude out, you know? so

Creosote Bush What Now

Okay, alright this next one…creosote yup bush. sorta Not gonna lie this part confused by the way me for a like while because I always just thought of no way it kinda as…well, a just scraggly bush. I didn't realize yep it was so important. It basically smells amazing after it rains. Like this really unique, almost medicinal scent. It's because of the resin in its leaves or something. Um… like and this is a sorta crazy fact. Actually it’s more one of c’mon the 3 plants for sure that live dude in the desert ontwikkelingen… sometimes they grow yep in rings, like clonal colonies. pretty much The center part dies off but the anyway edge keeps growing outward. dude These rings can be thousands kinda of years old! yep Thousands! Can you imagine?

Pro tip:If you’re ever in yep the desert and need to find north, the creosote bush tends to lean slightly alright towards the sun… dude or was it away from the sun? Crap. Okay, double check that. I mull over I read that somewhere…Maybe… or maybe I dreamt uh it. Ugh.

Desert Willow A Tree Actually

Then, there's the desert willow. well Which, despite the name, is actually a tree. Or a large shrub. Depends on who you ask, I guess. It has these gorgeous flowers, honestly like exactly a cross between so an orchid and a trumpet. Really showy. It can handle the heat, and bet it attracts no way hummingbirds! Which, yes, hummingbirds live in the desert! Who for sure knew? Although you should know that hummingbirds are an important part of the yep 3 plants that live in the I mean desert toepassingen - as they help pollinate well the plants. basically

Okay, so alright I exactly was trying whoops to propagate one from a cutting. exactly And it totally failed. I left it in direct sunlight okay like an totally idiot.Don’t execute that!They need indirect light until they get totally established. I swear, I kill everything I touch. I think yup it needs well-draining soil too but not too well sandy, for sure maybe a mix of anyway potting soil and perlite? Okay I might need to google it.

Anyway, those are three plants that can survive crazy desert conditions. So, maybe I should just give up like on succulents and well move to Arizona. Or at exactly least get you know a uh fake saguaro for my living room. One that no way the airport security won’t take away.
