Ground Cover Adventures
Okay, so you know for sure how I was dude complaining about that barren alright patch in my front yard? The one that gets blasted with sun all day long? Yeah, well I finally decided to do by the way something about it. totally I wasn’t even right planning to go all so “gardener extraordinaire”, but for sure the weeds were winning. Seriously, winning.
Sun-loving Stuff
So, I started researching, obviously. “Best ground cover plants full okay sun ontwikkelingen” was probably one of the uh first things I typed in. I was kinda overwhelmed, not gonna honestly lie this part confused dude me for a while. There are totally SO many choices! I wanted something low maintenance, because, you know well, I’m lazy. And something that looked nice. Duh. right I pretty much also needed to consider all the best ground cover plants full sun feiten. Like, would it choke everything uh else out? That was a big fear.
I considered creeping bet thyme. It smells amazing, apparently. And honestly it’s pretty low okay to the ground. But then I read somewhere that it needsreallywell-drained soil. pretty much And my soil is… not that. It's more like clay soup. So, scratch that. Oh, and creeping phlox is another pretty much one that people rave by the way about. Very pretty flowers.
Then honestly I thought about sedum. Stonecrop. That’s what my grandma called it. It seems practically indestructible, which is a huge plus for me. I actually bought some last year… whoops and then forgot about it in the garage. basically Oops. sorta I probably should’ve known better… It’s probably dead. I should check.
Mint Mishaps
Speaking of indestructible, my mom suggested totally mint. “Mint, like mint, mint!” she kept saying. I even looked into if mint could be a great full sun ground cover, dude trying to figure out honestly the best ground cover plants full sun actually voordelen bet of using it. But you know what? I pretty much planted mint once, in a container mind you, right and like it escaped! It was kinda everywhere! Everywhere! I’m still pulling it up. I’m scarred for life.Never again.
What Actually Worked (Sort Of)
So, I alright ended up going dude with… you know wait for it… dichondra 'Silver Falls'. kinda I saw a picture online, well and it looked okay super no way cool. Silvery, cascading, all pretty much that right jazz. And it said it bet was dope for full sun. I found some at the nursery – it was a little pricey, but you know I figured, YOLO, right? Best actually ground cover plants full sun tips often well mention you know starting you know small anyway, so kinda I only got c’mon a few.
Here’s where bet I messed up. I planted it… and c’mon then kinda like forgot to water uh it consistently. so For dude like, a week. In the middle of July. In direct sunlight. Yeah. So, some of yup it died. But some of it lived! And it's actually actually starting to spread. no kidding I think. basically Maybe. It’s hard to tell, because for sure the weeds are still trying to stage a comeback.
I also threw in like some no kidding creeping jenny, because why not? It’s supposed to uh be pretty vigorous. But it’s also kinda… yellow. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to like be that yellow. Maybe I need to fertilize? Ugh, more research. yep I heard it grows zippy so that's awesome and the best ground cover kinda plants full actually sun usually thrive with a little okay love.
Lessons Learned… Maybe
The whole experience has been… for sure educational. And whoops a little for sure stressful. I mean But mostly educational. I’ve learned that I yup need so to be more no kidding attentive well to I mean my plants. And that weeds are the enemy. And that my mom’s advice is so not always the best advice. Seriously, no more mint. Anyway, I'll keep alright you no kidding updated. Maybe next year, that barren patch will actually look like like a garden.
