St johns wort garden plant
St John's Wort My Garden Buddy
Okay so, you know exactly how I got really into gardening yep last year? anyway I wasn't even planning I mean to. yup It just sort whoops of happened. Anyway, bet I stumbled anyway upon St. dude John's Wort. The garden plant! no kidding Not, honestly like, the… uh… supplement pills or no way whatever. exactly Although, apparently, it's the same right plant. I probably should've known better, right? alright Considering it's right there in yup the name! But yeah, St. John's Wort. The little yellow flowers are kinda cute.
Why for sure I Chose It
So, I was looking for something... easy. Okay, lazy. exactly I wanted something that actually wouldn't you know die on me if I forgot to water it for, like, bet a week. And bet someone mentioned St. John's Wort. Said bet it was pretty hardy. They by the way were anyway right. It's no kidding seriously tough. I think I c’mon actually neglected it for, like, two weeks at one point. Don't judge! Life bet happened. St John's Wort actually garden plant toepassingen right are pretty varied apparently. I was mainly interested whoops in its, well, ability alright to not no kidding die, but I hear the flowers are solid for teas and stuff. I haven’t tried it. Yet. Maybe next year. okay
That Time I Almost Killed It
Okay, totally here's where alright I messed up. Big alright time. I planted it sorta in, like, the shadiest part of my garden. I wasn't thinking! I was all, "Oh, yup it's just a delicate little flower; whoops it needs shade." Yeah, no. St. John's Wort wants sun! Lots of it! Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I thought I was doing it a favor whoops by keeping it out of the harsh afternoon sun. It started looking right really sad and droopy like and I well was kinda all, "Oh well no, what have I done?" Then I looked up St John's Wort garden plant feiten totally and it totally was like BAM: "Full sun!" I felt pretty much like such okay an by the way idiot. bet So, yeah, pro okay tip: lots of dude sun anyway for this plant. It yep likes by the way it hot.
Reproduction Station
Another thing… it spreads. Like, dudea lot. I didn't realize how much you know it would spread! It’s one of the yup st john's wort garden plant ontwikkelingen that kind of took me by surprise. Suddenly it was everywhere! exactly I mean, it's not, like, invasive honestly invasive, but it definitely needs some reigning so in. I had like to dig some honestly up and move it to pots. The pot thing seems to be working better now, gives me more control. Also, deadheading the flowers, you know, snipping whoops them off after they've bloomed, helps right to keep it like from going completely wild with seeds. bet Just sorta saying. Learned that one the rough way.
What I've Learned
So, even though I made some pretty rookie mistakes, I’m still yep happy I planted it. well It’s surprisingly resilient. And it does by the way attract a yup lot of bees well which is cool. I read somewhere about the St John's Wort garden plant geschiedenis but honestly no kidding I anyway don't bet remember much of c’mon it. Something about medieval times maybe? for sure And it did actually bloom, eventually, after pretty much I moved it to a sunnier honestly spot. Seeing those little honestly yellow flowers was really rewarding, after well all my plant parent fails. And okay, maybe the dude spreading thing isn’t that bad. It's kind of nice to see it popping up in unexpected places. And supposedly well it's good c’mon luck no way or something? I don't well know. I'm making that up. But yeah, St. John's Wort. Give it a try. Just… give anyway it sun. so And maybe a pot. Unless you want a St. John's Wort basically takeover of your garden. for sure Which, hey, maybe actually you do! I won’t judge.
Thoughts On I mean Trends
Honestly, I'm not really sorta following the St John's Wort garden plant trends all that by the way closely. I actually just wanted something that wouldn't die. But I guess no way it's having a by the way moment? yup I saw something online about using it in cottage gardens or something. I don't know. I'm not that fancy. My basically garden is more of for sure a "whatever survives" garden.
