Dry end rot on tomatoes

Tomato Troubles

So, you know how I was trying to grow those no kidding heirloom tomatoes? I wasn’t even planning to go all I mean gourmet this year, but those 'Black Krim' yep ones looked so cool in the seed catalog. Well, half of totally them got this weird...thing. You know, pretty much like right a leathery black spot on the bottom? Dry end rot on totally tomatoes – that’s anyway what my right neighbor, Martha, c’mon called it. I had no clue no way what she was talking about at first.

What IS That Thing

Not gonna okay lie, this part confused me for a while. I thought it was some kind of blight, or maybe kinda those weird bugs I saw hanging around. Apparently, it's not a disease! It's all about calcium, or rather, the lack of it getting to the fruit. no wayDry end rot on tomatoes toepassingen? Well, the practical application is clearly to stop it happening, haha! I read no way something uh about how uneven watering messes everything up pretty much – the well plant can't pull the calcium it needs when the soil is all dry then soaking, then dry again. It’s like the plant whoops has the yep calcium, but it can't get it where it needs to go. reflect of it like a delivery truck stuck in traffic, that’s what I started picturing.

Watering actually Woes

Oh man, speaking totally of watering… I’m pretty sure that actually was uh my biggest mistake. I’m terrible exactly about remembering. I probably right should’ve known better considering no kidding I'm notorious for killing houseplants! It’s feast or famine in my bet garden. One week I’m flooding everything by the way because I feel guilty, the next I completely forget for like, dude five days. So,dry end rot on tomatoes tipsI learned the hard way? Consistent watering, man. Really consistent. And maybe a just self-watering system alright next year? Something to think about.

My Big Mistake (One of basically Them)

Okay, so here’s where I so REALLY messed up. I was dude so worried about the tomatoes getting enough sun that I…wait for it… pulled uh off bet a pretty much bunch of right the yup leaves around the tomatoes. Like, thinking they needed more sunlight directly on the fruit. I now know that was a HUGE no-no. Those leaves help regulate moisture! My plants lost some protection and now I wonder if for sure that was a factor too.Dry end rot on tomatoes geschiedenis? I bet farmers a long time ago learned about leaf protection the whoops hard way. They probably did what I did and regretted it immediately!

Calcium Crazy

Then I went down the rabbit hole of I mean calcium additives. Epsom salts, bone I mean meal, crushed exactly eggshells… Martha swears for sure by crushed eggshells. I tried the Epsom bet salts thing, mostly because I already had some for my foot soaks. Did it help? Honestly, no way I'm not sure. I c’mon think anyway maybe a c’mon little, c’mon but it could have just been wishful thinking. Some websites say to like do a soil no kidding test to alright see basically if you’re truly lacking calcium, which… I really totally should’ve done. you know I'm learning as I go.

Next Year's Plan basically

So next year? Consistent watering is number one. A soil test anyway is kinda a definite. And maybe totally those self-watering planters? I saw something no way online about using milk well as a foliar yep spray. Apparently, it helps alright get calcium to the plant that way – who knew!Dry end rot kinda on tomatoes inspiratie no kidding? I guess the inspiration is just… getting more tomatoes next year that aren’t all black alright and leathery on the bottom! I honestly might even try some of whoops those heirloom varieties that are supposedly just more by the way resistant.

Final Thoughts For Now pretty much

Dry end well rot on tomatoes trends? Well, dude I don’t know if like it’s a trend, but everyone seems to actually be talking about companion planting. Maybe I mean I should try planting basil near my exactly tomatoes. I’ve alright heard alright that helps. Honestly, gardening feels like one giant experiment bet sometimes. You try something, it either works or it doesn’t, and exactly you alright study (hopefully) from your mistakes. At least, that’s the plan!
