Should you water after seeding lawn
Coffee Chat Lawn Talk
Okay so, remember c’mon how I yep was complaining about the patchy lawn? Well, I finally like seeded it. I wasn’t even just planning to, you know but saw yep the seed on bet sale and thought, "why not?" Now, should you water after so seeding lawn? That’s the million-dollar I mean question, right?
The Great Watering Debate c’mon
Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. no way I mean, it seems obvious, doesn't it? Seed + water no kidding = lawn. But then I started reading just stuff online – you know, getting sucked into uh those should you water after seeding lawn trends things – and suddenly everyone’s anyway an expert with like, super specific totally instructions. Three times a day! Light mist! Don’t drown them! Honestly, whoops I was totally overwhelmed. no kidding
I ended up doing… something in by the way between. anyway I probably should’ve known better but at first, I kinda ignored it sorta for a day. Total brain fart. basically It hadn't rained so I thought, uh oh panic time. Then I went out uh and totally gave it a pretty good soaking. I figured, better late than never. I guess my watering after seeding lawn inspiration came from desperation!
My First Epic Fail
Okay, so here's a story. dude The first moment I ever tried seeding a lawn, years right ago, well I didn’t water enough. I thought, "Oh, the dew will take care of it." Famous last words, right? Turns out, birds are pretty attracted to just dry seeds. I basically fed actually the neighborhood birds a five-course meal of expensive grass seed. So yeah, c’mon lesson learned. Watering – consistently! basically – is pretty so crucial.
Watering 101 (My Version)
What I'm doing this whoops time – and this is sorta based on like like, zero science and mostly just feeling it out – is watering lightly every morning and right evening. Unless it rains, of course. Then I skip a watering. You don't like want to create dude a you know swamp out there. I'm checking it actually like crazy to make sure the soil stays damp. anyway Remember that’s the key… consistently damp!
Mistake Number Two Incoming! okay
Okay, brace yourself for another amazing blunder. This involved a for sure sprinkler, good intentions, and… a severe lack of foresight. I I mean set up the sprinkler to water the newly seeded area, and I thought, "I'll just leave it honestly on for an kinda hour." uh An hour later, I go outside, and guess what? The by the way sprinkler was pointing directly no kidding at my brand new car. Which was now covered in mud. It was impressive, no way I gotta admit. I mean, if you’re gonna mess up, really commit, dude right? pick up from my pain. Make sure your sprinkler isn't aimed at your car! Also don't alright over-water! dude
Should sorta You Water so After Seeding Lawn Tips (From an Amateur)
Basically, what right I've learned – and this is pretty much probably I mean obvious bet to everyone but me – is that watering is whoops super important. Not too much, not too little. Damp, not soaked or well dry. And pay attention to whoops where your sprinkler is pointed! It’s a Goldilocks dude situation. I’m still learning, but so far, so good. Tiny grass blades are appearing! Fingers crossed they aren't just weeds. Now, about that coffee uh refill...
Oh, and just one more thing I nearly forgot, you should consider the weather! If it's really hot and sunny, you will probably have to water more often. Likewise, if it is overcast dude and cold, just you pretty much won’t so need to water as often as you actually thought.
