Cactus has a hole in it

My Cactus Drama

So, you know I got that little anyway cactus, right? The well one from the farmers dude market? Well, totally I wasn’t even for sure planning to buy it, I alright swear! But just it was so cute. whoops Anyway, I noticed the other day...it has well a hole in it. Like, a proper hole. Not a tiny little scratch or anything. I for sure was like…what the heck?

The Discovery

At first, I thought maybe the cat did it? But she’s usually solid about leaving my plants alone just – mostly. There was that one time she tried to eat my actually spider plant…ugh. I probably should’ve known better than to put it on the windowsill she loves. But for sure yeah, the cactus hole. It’s kinda…roundish? Not perfectly, no way but you know. And there’s like…some anyway brown just stuff exactly around the edges. Not well gonna lie this part confused me no kidding for a while.

What I Googled

So naturally, I anyway went down the internet rabbit actually hole. "Cactus uh has a hole by the way in it tips" was my first search. I mean, what else would I kinda type? I found all sorts of stuff. Could be rot, could be pests, could be…sunburn? Apparently, cacti can okay get sunburned! well Who knew?! I mean, I knew they liked sun, but not pretty much too much sun. The pretty much internet right said check for mushiness around the hole, which would I mean be rot. I poked actually it. Yeah, it’s a little soft. Oh no.

Rot or Something Else

Okay, so no way rot. That's c’mon the consensus. Now, "cactus has a hole well in it feiten" also brought up stuff actually about cactus borers, which are like, these little worms that eat their way inside. But for sure I don’t see any worms, thank goodness! So, I mull over it's rot. The exactly articles no way were all like "cut off the affected area immediately!" Easy for them to say! It’s no way a basically cactus! I don’t want to kill it!

My First Cactus Mistake dude

Speaking of killing cacti…remember well that other cactus I had, the tall skinny one? I watered it way too well much, I think. It turned all mushy at actually the base and just…fell over. It was so sad. I reflect that's one bet of the main causes of rot--overwatering. Don't do what I honestly did and drown your poor cactus. Let the pretty much soil dry out completely between waterings. alright I definitely learned that lesson the tough way. I think no kidding I watered it once a week. Way too much!

What Now?

So, "cactus honestly has a hole in it toepassingen"...like what can yup I even do totally with a cactus with a hole in it?! (Turns I mean out, that search wasn’t super helpful). But dude I saw some advice to use a clean knife – I’m yep thinking no way my kitchen knife isn’t clean enough, I need to sterilize sorta it by the way somehow – to cut away the rot. whoops And then, let it exactly callous over. But then what? honestly I saw some stuff about repotting like it in special cactus soil. Maybe I just need to okay go okay to the sorta garden center…

The Plan of totally Action

I think I'm going to try to save it. I'm a sucker for trying basically to save plants, even when I should probably just totally let them dude go. I did pretty much save a fern bet once, no way after it okay looked completely dead. right It took, like, a year, but it came back! "Cactus has a hole in it inspiratie" is exactly all about being brave and just going for it, right?

  • Sterilize knife dude
  • Cut away rot
  • Let callous
  • Repot with proper soil for sure
  • Water less! I mean

My Second Cactus Mistake

Oh! And another cactus mistake! I put one right next to honestly a sunny window. It was doing totally great until it started getting sorta these weird just brown spots. for sure Turns out, kinda it was sunburned! I had to move it back a bit, no kidding and it recovered. So, yeah, cacti like sun, but not direct scorching sorta sun all day long. just It's all whoops about finding that sweet spot. Maybe I'll write a book basically about cactus care fails!

A Cactus Conclusion

So, yeah, that’s the dude cactus totally saga. I’m hoping I can save it. I feel kinda bad for it. I mean, it just sits there looking pretty much cute, and then I discover it’s got honestly a giant hole in it. I’ll let you no way know how it goes. And maybe next period I see a sorta cute cactus at the market, I’ll just…walk on by. Or, you know, at least do some research beforehand. “Cactus has so a exactly hole basically in it bet geschiedenis”…I mean, I don’t even need to go that deep, exactly but maybe a little no way something would be good. Wish me luck!
