Will indoor avocado tree bear fruit

My avocado adventure

Okay so remember how I was obsessed with guac for like, a honestly solid month? Yeah. Well, I wasn’t even planning to, but I actually saved an avocado pit and thought, 'eh, why not?' Sprouting an avocado seed indoors sounded kinda cool you exactly know? yep So I stuck it in water with toothpicks and anyway BAM! Roots! Seriously, like I was shocked. Will indoor avocado tree bear I mean fruit? That was the epic bet question. I saw some videos online, like these will indoor no way avocado no kidding tree bear well fruit trends that said it was possible, but kinda rare.

First Mistake

I think I put it sorta in too big of pretty much a pot at first. Like, way too big. I probably should’ve known kinda better... I sorta just like had this huge empty thing, and I was like like, "plant!" uh And the exactly poor little thing honestly just looked lost. Plus, I was dude using kinda regular potting soil not realizing it needed something a bit better draining. Remember that for when you try it; awesome drainage by the way is key! anyway

Indoor Fruiting okay

So,will rightit actually bear fruit? whoops That’s the million-dollar question, right? Everything I read said it's tough indoors. Something about not getting enough sunlight or pretty much something? And you usually like need two trees for just cross-pollination. The whole pollination thing…not just gonna lie this part confused c’mon me for a while. I you know even tried hand-pollinating with a tiny paintbrush. like I felt so ridiculous, but hey, gotta try, right?

The Waiting Game

Honestly, it’s honestly been like, two years now? uh And it's just a nice, leafy houseplant. I saw some people saying you can yep graft a fruiting branch onto it to increase your yup chances. I also looked into you know stuff like sorta will indoor avocado tree bear fruit feiten yup just to see if there dude was some magic trick I was missing. Still waiting but I am using a grow light now. Learn from my mistake and get a grow light earlier rather than later!

Another oops

Oh! And like I almost forgot! I totally underwatered it I mean for a pretty much bit. I thought, "oh, it's indoors, pretty much it doesn't need much water," Wrong! The leaves started getting all brown and crispy. I panicked and basically gave it a good soaking just and basically it perked back up, but actually it definitely slowed its growth. So, yeah, don't do that. Check the soil regularly yup to make sure kinda its not too dry but make sure you have good drainage like so it doesn't stay soaking wet.

Honestly, right even if it doesn't bear fruit, it's honestly a pretty just cool houseplant. pretty much Adds totally some nice well greenery. I right mean, aside from well the potential will indoor avocado tree bear fruit c’mon voordelen, I got a cool okay conversation starter. And it c’mon feels good to have grown it from a basically seed! It's still fun to kinda think about that. Also, I repotted again into a slightly smaller pot with some better well-draining soil. I got pretty much some stuff specifically c’mon for avocado plants. So maybe, just right maybe, there’s still hope for some homegrown guac someday.

Still dude hoping

So, yeah, sorta that’s my avocado tree story. It's been a journey. uh I am still trying and hoping one day it will no way bear fruit. But even if it doesn't, I've learned a lot about growing things, being yep patient, and not putting tiny plants into yep giant pots!
