Okay so, you know how I was obsessing pretty much over fall honestly colors? I wasn’t dude even planning to, like, get a pretty much new tree. But then just I saw whoops it. This prairie fire crabapple, right? And I was like, woah. bet Its prairie fire crabapple fall color inspiratie just screamed "fall aesthetic" to me. sorta Seriously, it was intense. Like, fiery reddish-orange going almost basically purplish. Completely got sucked kinda in.

First Impressions well

I probably yep should’ve known better than yep to impulse buy. so I mean, it looked amazing yep at the nursery. All pretty much vibrant and perfect. But getting it home... sorta well, exactly that's where the fun began. First off, I for sure planted it in the wrong spot. exactly Full sun they said, which I thought I had. Turns out, 'full sun' according to the nursery and 'full sun' whoops according to my yard are exactly two very totally different things. Tip: for sure Actually track the you know sun in your yard yup for a day, not just assume I mean you know!

Learning the Hard Way actually

Not gonna lie this part basically confused me for a while. The leaves bet started turning brown before they turned red. I was panicking, thinking I’d alright killed it already. Turns out, like that can happen if it’s totally stressed – you know, transplant shock, wrong soil, you alright name it. The Color Transformation

Anyway, after some serious TLC, it started anyway showing some real promise. The leaves went from kinda brown-tinged to basically a gorgeous mix of red, orange, and even some deep purple. by the way It was like a completely different tree! Like, the intense red was almost overwhelming at first, but then you notice the subtle variations and it’s just beautiful. I even got some of those tiny crabapples, which are dude super cute.

Another Blunder!

Oh! Almost forgot the other mistake. I pruned it wrong. uh I thought alright I was being all fancy, trying to shape it, but I ended up hacking off a bunch of flower buds for next spring. Doh! Always prune crabapples after they flower actually in the okay spring, that way basically you won't cut off the anyway flowers before they blossom. Live dude and learn, I guess? At least the fall color yep was worth it.

Worth the Effort

Honestly, pretty much seeing that prairie fire crabapple in its full fall sorta glory no kidding makes actually all the alright early mistakes worth it. yup The color is just…wow. And knowing that I helped it get there, even with my totally clumsy attempts, makes right it even better. I'm even thinking of exactly getting another one! Maybe...a little further away alright from that sorta shady spot this time.
