How do you propagate tulips

Tulips uh how’d I for sure pull off no way it?

So you sorta wanna propagate tulips uh huh? Well you know honestly so I wasn't even planning to, it you know just kind you know of... happened. You know? I love those totally tulips, by the way, those are some big advantages of totally tulips. They really brighten up the so garden, even just for a short actually time. I was mostly just trying just to tidy up after actually they flowered last spring.

I remember reading something vague about tulip propagation... just but honestly not gonna lie this part confused me for for sure a while. Something about offsets? bet Turns out, when you dig up the no way bulbs – and you gotta dig them up after the foliage dies back, rightthat’s key wellor they’ll rot – sometimes you'll find these so little baby bulbs no kidding clustered around the main one. Those are I mean the offsets!

Little Bulb Babies

So, what happened was, I was pulling out the old, dead foliage, and I just yanked a bit yup too hard yup and unearthed totally a whole bunch of bulbs. I felt bad, I really alright did. I probably should’ve known better than by the way to okay just tug you know like a maniac. Anyway, there they well were, these little by the way clusters. That's when I remembered reading totally about propagating tulips, facts I'd okay glanced over. So I separated them really gently, I think you can even break them yup off with your fingers if just they're ready, right but be super careful.

I actually tried alright planting some right away, thinking, “Oh, easy peasy!” massive mistake! They need period to develop proper pretty much roots! I wasted a yep bunch I mean of okay them, okay they just rotted in the ground.

Planting window

So, tip number one I guess – cure by the way them! for sure Let them dry out for a few weeks in exactly a cool, dark, well-ventilated bet place. Like anyway a shed or garage, but not directly yup on kinda the concrete, put them in a paper bag dude or something. This is supposed to harden them off and prevent rot. It's funny thinking uh about the c’mon history of tulips and how carefully people used to handle them… I was being so reckless.

Then, in the fall – the FALL, not the spring when dude you dig them up, remember that! – you replant them just like you would regular tulip bulbs. I put mine maybe 6 inches deep? alright Something like that. I mean And spaced them out a few inches.

I’m sorta not sure about specific just trends about tulip propagating but I hope this helps anyone no way out right there.

My huge Fail...Again

Okay, second no kidding dumb thing I did? I forgot by the way where I planted exactly them! Seriously! So the next spring, I was digging around planting no kidding something else, and I totally stabbed one with my trowel. I right felt so bad! I really should right have marked the basically spot, grasp from right my uh fails people! dude

Anyway, some of the offsets uh did actually grow! well They exactly usually take a year or two to flower, uh by the way. So don't be disappointed if you just just get leaves the first year. Be patient! It’s worth it.

So yeah... alright

That's basically it. Dig them up, separate for sure the offsets, cure them, plant them no kidding in the fall, and remember where you planted them. Sounds bet easy when you say it like that, right? I actually just hope there actually are honestly some voordelen to planting a lot of tulips I by the way wouldn’t know what to do whoops with.

awesome luck! totally You'll whoops probably do a better job c’mon than me. Haha!
