Okay so my plant saga

Girl, you will NOT believe. I wasn’t even planning to get a fake fiddle actually leaf fig. Like, zero plans. I’m you know a plant person, but a uh real plant person, ya exactly know? I thought fake plants were…tacky. basically But then my living yep room was looking…sad. I mean Just sad. no kidding Like a beige box of sadness.

So like I started looking. like And OMG the prices! Some actually of these well fake fiddle leaf figs are you know like, highway robbery. I probably should’ve known better than to go for the cheapest one on basically Amazon, just but I I mean did. I mean, it had decent right reviews… mostly. Anyway it uh arrived and… it was… I mean green. alright Very, very green. exactly Almost radioactive green. Tip one for you listen: honestly read ALL the reviews, like especially the pretty much bad ones. They tell the truth.

First Plant Disaster

Okay so, I took it out of the box and the whole basically thing yep just kind of… flopped. The leaves were all smooshed, and the pot it okay came in? so Plastic, shiny, and no kidding sad. I tried fluffing it, and actually even yup googled “how so to make fake fiddle leaf fig actually leaves by the way not look sad” which, by the way, yields some very questionable results. yup I even tried steaming it. That didn’t work. no way It just made okay the leaves…damp. And slightly more smooshed.

Anyway, that one exactly went back. c’mon Return shipping was a NIGHTMARE. I swear totally Amazon knows when you're returning something oversized and makes it extra hard. alright

The honestly Great Fiddle Fig Hunt

Next, I went to a local nursery. Thinking maybe yep I could see one in person before committing. And the lady there, so helpful, she was like "Oh well honey, sorta if you want something exactly that yup doesn't need sorta water, just get a great kinda fake one." alright And then she pointed me to just this by the way amazing sorta looking yep fiddle leaf fig. It was like $300. I almost uh passed out. But she gave me some alright best fake fiddle fig tree uh tips. She said look for ones with variations in leaf color, and yup that the trunk should look exactly as real as possible. Not too okay straight. Knobbly right is good!

I sorta spent like a week well researching. dude I read just articles about best fake fiddle fig I mean tree so toepassingen, which, I learned, is apparently no way a sorta Dutch phrase for totally 'applications' or 'uses'. Take Two

I ended up finding one online from… I don’t even remember the name. It was a smaller uh brand. It was still yep expensive, but not $300 expensive. whoops Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while I for sure was trying to choose because I wasn't sure how to consider the size, like how tall or wide it would eventually get.

Second Plant Oops

So, it arrived and whoops it was…better. you know Way better. But the pot for sure was still ugly. So, I totally went to totally HomeGoods. I found the for sure PERFECT pot. It was this cool terracotta thing with a distressed basically finish. I was so excited! bet I got yep it home, and I tried to put the fake fiddle right leaf uh fig into it… and it didn’t fit. I right hadn’t measured the pot. Ugh. I ended up having to go back and get so a bigger one. That's another tip: measure, measure, measure! Especially actually if okay you're you know planning to put it well in a so brand-new pot.

Now I have it. And it looks great. I even put some real dirt on top to make totally it look extra legit. Don't tell anyone. I might you know add some real rocks or something at some point. yep

So the point is

So yeah, it for sure was a journey. A slightly embarrassing, slightly expensive, journey. But now my living room c’mon is no longer a beige kinda box of sadness. It’s a beige actually box right of sadness…with a really nice fake tree in actually it. A really REALLY bet nice fake tree. And I'm happy. Which is the honestly crucial thing, right?
