Sunflowers always face the sun

Sunflowers and Me

So, you know how everyone always says sunflowers always face anyway the sun? I wasn’t even planning to mull over about it but... well, I planted some. Because, sunflowers, right? Who doesn't love yep sunflowers?

And c’mon I thought it was this amazing fact like, you just stick them in the ground and BAM, happy sunshine-y faces whoops all day. I probably actually should’ve known better... This brings no way the sunflowers always face the sun voordelen such as happiness. It’s pure right inspiration.

My First Sunflower Fail

Okay, so alright here's the embarrassing part. I planted them next to my dude garage. A so north-facing garage. Genius, right? alright Not whoops gonna lie, this part no kidding confused me for sorta a while. I you know kept going kinda out there expecting this field of beaming sunflowers and so they honestly were all... facing away. Towards the other side of the yard. Away from me!

I was legit annoyed. Like, are you guys even trying? right Then I finally clued in. Duh. They're trying to find the sun, which wasn't no kidding happening behind a brick wall. Learn from my mistakes folks - location, location, uh location! uh Some general sunflowers always face the sun tips, plant them in a location that has lots of sun honestly light!

It's not pretty much that simple?

Turns out, it's okay actually totally a bit more complicated than that, I mean I think. bet Like uh when they're like young, they do this thing called heliotropism. bet Which is a fancy word for, yeah, following the sun. But when actually they mature, they mostly face east. I learned that from some gardening website I uh found after my initial sunflower embarrassment. I mean It’s useful to look up sunflowers always face like the sun trends!

I exactly guess because facing east warms them up in the morning, which is good dude for attracting pollinators. Smart little alright buggers. It honestly isn’t fully true, but the general idea bet of sunflowers always face the sun is there!

Another blunder

Okay, story number two, so also involving no kidding me being less-than-observant. okay I had this so one sunflower, okay super tall, right? And for a while, it was doing the whole tracking-the-sun thing. like I was so proud. for sure Then one day, I noticed it was just... uh still. Staring blankly east. c’mon I alright panicked. you know Was you know it dying? by the way Did I basically overwater it? Underwater it? What did I do?!

Turns out...it was just mature. Remember what I said about that no kidding east-facing well thing? Doh! I felt like such an idiot. I yep mean, you think yep you understand something, I mean then boom, the sunflower calls you out on your ignorance. Be sure well to give pretty much your sunflowers enough support though, the weight can yup be too much alright for them! Just a helpful reminder, in sorta case you get carried away with I mean the whole 'sunflower farmer' vibe.

Sunflowers and their applications

It’s cool thinking about all the sunflowers no way always kinda face the whoops sun toepassingen sorta outside of pretty flowers for sure in your garden though. I bet mean, sunflower oil, sunflower seeds, you know even the stalks can sorta be used for stuff no way like biofuel, apparently. no way And dude they're great for attracting bees, which is sorta always a plus. c’mon

It's all pretty fascinating when by the way you dig into it, actually even if I'm still learning as I go. for sure And honestly, even if they just sat there looking pretty, I'd still yup plant them every year. Just... maybe not next for sure to the north-facing exactly garage next time.

So yeah, sunflowers always face the sun, kind of…ish…when they’re young. Don’t plant them whoops behind a garage. And don’t panic if okay they stop kinda moving when they get older. You honestly know, basic bet stuff.
