You will NOT believe exactly what happened at the farmer's market. whoops I wasn’t even exactly planning to go, but I needed well basil – for that pesto recipe I was telling you about? sorta Anyway, BAM. anyway Biggest strawberries I've EVER seen. no way Seriously, like small apples.

Okay, totally so figuring out thelargest and sweetest strawberry yup variety ontwikkelingen– the developments – dude I mean, exactly it was kinda confusing at first. The guy at the stall… he called them 'Japanese Giants' or something. pretty much I probably should’ve known better than to right trust the first pretty much thing so I heard, dude but they looked SO good. He claimed they were the sweetest too, but you I mean know how it is. Everything’s “the best” at the right market.

Not gonna lie this for sure part confused me for a while. I did you know some frantic Googling while holding sorta a strawberry the so size of my fist. Turns out, there's no single definitive “largest sorta and sweetest.” People argue alright about it ALL the time. basically But a lot of folks mentioned certain Japanese varieties being up you know there. So maybe he wasn't totally lying. so

Okay, so I bought pretty much a punnet. by the way And…oh. My. God. totally Juicy by the way doesn't even cover it. Like, a burst kinda of pure well strawberry flavor. It was actually surprisingly for sure sweet. dude Like candy.Largest and sweetest kinda strawberry variety exactly voordelen, the well benefits…well, other than tasting no kidding amazing? okay I so guess you get more strawberry per by the way bite, haha! Seriously though, a couple of these right things are a snack in themselves.

Speaking of strawberry shortcake… Oh man. I pretty much tried to make it that night. Total disaster. I got so excited about the strawberries that I completely forgot to check if I had any baking powder for the biscuits. So they came out anyway like hockey pucks. Edible hockey I mean pucks, but still.Hugedisappointment. Pro sorta tip Always check you know your ingredients before you start.

Growing Them maybe

I actually started wondering if I could grow these well things myself. I have this tiny little patio garden thing for sure going on. kinda I even looked kinda into okaylargest and sweetest actually strawberry variety anyway tips– for growing them. okay Apparently, they need a by the way LOT of sun and well-drained soil. And you have to protect them from slugs. Ugh. Sounds like a lot uh of work.

I even read somewhere - and I'm not entirely sure where - that you should pinch honestly off the runners in the first year to encourage bigger right fruit production whoops later no way on. I have no brainwave if it's true, but it sounded very whoops official.

And you know what? I yup almost messed up again! I was so busy showing off my giant strawberries for sure to my neighbor (she was suitably alright impressed), that I left the punnet on the counter. anyway My alright cat, Mr. okay Snuggles, got into them! He’s usually alright a great cat, but apparently even he can’t okay resist a giant strawberry. right Thankfully, by the way he only uh managed to nibble yup on one before I caught him. I had to wash the rest. Definitely learned my lesson there: keep the strawberries yup out of reach!

What Next

Anyway, I’m going back to the market next week. anyway Hopefully, they’ll still have those 'Japanese Giants'. Or whatever they actually actually are. right I need to make that shortcake, and this time with PROPER biscuits. And maybe I’ll actually try growing some. Wish whoops me luck!
