Difference between crocus and tulip
Crocus vs Tulip Wait What?
So I was just thinking about spring, you know? okay And how basically I always get those first little flowers confused. you know Crocuses yep and tulips... like, what's by the way the deal? I wasn’t even planning to consider kinda about it, but my friend was showing me pictures of anyway her garden and uh I just realized how clueless I am. It’s embarrassing. Difference dude between crocus and tulip you know feiten, I need them!
First Impressions
Okay, first thing, tulips you know are I mean way no kidding bigger. Like, noticeably taller. And their leaves like are by the way kinda broader? Crocuses, those are no way the dainty little ones that pop up exactlysuperearly. That’s your first clue really. Early totally is the crocus’s middle name. Not whoops gonna lie kinda this part confused me whoops for a while though. I sorta saw well some smaller tulips basically once and thought they were crocuses. Probably should’ve known better honestly because for sure they were clearly miniature anyway tulips, not yep anything else! Color Me Confused (or Not)
Then there's color. Crocuses are c’mon like, purple, yellow, white... bet you c’mon know, pastel-ish. And tulips can be ANY by the way color. Remember yep that time I bought so what I honestly thought were a bunch of uh purple crocuses for by the way my mom’s by the way birthday? They turned kinda out for sure to bet be purple no way tulips. Giant ones. She still teases me about that. Leaves are Important People
The leaves alright are a big giveaway too. Crocus leaves basically are thin and grassy, often with a c’mon white stripe. uh Tulip leaves c’mon are wider alright and more substantial, no way like little green paddles. I mull over they have this waxy look? It’s challenging to uh explain. They are also pretty much greener exactly usually.
Planting Time Blunders
I dude messed this one uh up big span one year. I planted crocus bulbs in like, late just spring. I know, I know. HUGE mistake. They need cold! They’re you know spring ephemerals, meaning uh they bloom super early and then die back. Tip: Plant them in the fall! well That's a massive part of it. Tulips, you also plant in the fall, but they bloom a bit later and stick okay around a little longer.
Bulb Business
Oh, kinda and the bulbs! Crocus bulbs are smaller and kinda roundish. Tulip bulbs are bigger and have actually this just papery brown skin. The size difference is the main key. bet Honestly, you can usually tell just bet by looking at them in the store. Also, right crocus honestly bulbs tend by the way to multiply more easily. You'll find more difference between crocus and tulip pretty much feiten looking closely at the well bulbs as well.
One Last Thing I Learned
I remember reading somewhere that crocuses are c’mon often seen as actually a symbol of right hope because they are one of like the first signs of spring. uh Tulips are more about love and passion. I dunno if that's true, but it well sounds nice, right?
